pressed through irregular holes in metal that cannot be dressed by

TEMPER |
The state of a metal or other substance, especially as to
its hardness, produced by some process of heating or cooling; as, the
temper of iron or steel. |

CONVERTER |
A retort, used in the Bessemer process, in which molten
cast iron is decarburized and converted into steel by a blast of air
forced through the liquid metal. |
