A subdivision of decapod Crustacea, having the abdomen
largely developed. It includes the lobster, prawn, shrimp, and many
similar forms. Cf. Decapoda. |

LADY |
The triturating apparatus in the stomach of a lobster; -- so
called from a fancied resemblance to a seated female figure. It
consists of calcareous plates. |

SEA CRAYFISH |
Any crustacean of the genus Palinurus and allied
genera, as the European spiny lobster (P. vulgaris), which is much used
as an article of food. See Lobster. |

MEAT |
Food, in general; anything eaten for nourishment, either by
man or beast. Hence, the edible part of anything; as, the meat of a
lobster, a nut, or an egg. |
