A Venetian vessel, with a square stern, having only a
mainmast, jigger mast, and bowsprit; also a sloop of war ship-rigged. |

MISTICO |
A kind of small sailing vessel used in the Mediterranean.
It is rigged partly like a xebec, and partly like a felucca. |

BARKENTINE |
A threemasted vessel, having the foremast
square-rigged, and the others schooner-rigged. [Spelled also
barquentine, barkantine, etc.] See Illust. in Append. |

HOY |
A small coaster vessel, usually sloop-rigged, used in
conveying passengers and goods from place to place, or as a tender to
larger vessels in port. |
