The waste of the Pennsylvania anthracite mines, consisting of
fine coal, dust, etc., and used as fuel. |

BYARD |
A piece of leather crossing the breast, used by the men who
drag sledges in coal mines. |

BREAKER |
Specifically: A machine for breaking rocks, or for
breaking coal at the mines; also, the building in which such a machine
is placed. |

LORRY |
A small cart or wagon, as those used on the tramways in
mines to carry coal or rubbish; also, a barrow or truck for shifting
baggage, as at railway stations. |

or the quantity of material produced by, or turned out from, one or
more furnaces or mills, in a given time. |
